Paul challenges us to live our lives not conforming to the standards of this age, but to allow ourselves to be transformed and live by the standards of Christ. In our Gospel reading from Matthew 15, Jesus encounters a Canaanite woman who is the epitome of these characteristics. Jesus rebukes her for bothering him since she is not a Jew.
