MISSION
Fairfield Presbyterian Church has been serving the rural communities of northwest Marion County, Florida for over a century (founded in 1905) with a faithful witness and caring spirit.
This remains a vibrant, joyous and committed congregation summoned to minister as the body of Christ in ministries of compassion, reconciliation, and new life.
The congregation is part of St. Augustine Presbytery in the Presbyterian Church, USA.

Dr. Belinda (Bea) Newhart, Pastor
Dr. Belinda (Bea ) Newhart serves as CRE at the Fairfield Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, Florida in the Presbytery of St. Augustine. Bea began serving as their CP July 1, 2020. Previously, she had served the First Presbyterian Church in Reddick, FL for about 8 years. Before moving to Florida, that served as CP at the Miller Memorial Church in Monmouth Junction, NJ in the New Brunswick Presbytery. Bea received most of her CP training through Dubuque Theological Seminary in IA. Before entering the ministry, she was an educator for 32 years, in the private, public, and collegiate sectors. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ and her Doctorate from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Newhart is committed to serving the Lord at small churches. She also has a passion for teaching.
Max Newhart, Clerk of Session
The Clerk of Session maintains the church's records and standing. Pastor Bea's husband is an experienced Clerk from other congregations who actually enjoys this stuff. Before retiring he was a mechanical engineer and Vice-President of a company in NJ.
Tim Petty, Treasurer
Tim is kinda retired from the car dealership business, but got restless and works in sales for Armstrong Homes in Ocala. He loves to mess with numbers and organize things.
"Doogie" Stewart, Director of Music
The son of former pastor Dale Stewart and first wife, Wilma, a church organist, Doogie grew up singing in church and secular choirs, played violin, and performed in musical theatre. With a master’s in theatre arts from the University of Cincinnati’s College/Conservatory of Music, he writes plays and film scripts, and designs sets and costumes when not composing or performing.
