Jesus wants us to be completely flooded and fulfilled with joy. Such filling happens when we practice self-giving love. Without apology, this is a Mother’s Day sermon with appreciation for that time-honored institution without the benefit of which we wouldn’t be here! Even though Mother’s Day is not a religious holiday or spiritual observance in origin, the Bible certainly gives evidence that motherhood and parenthood are God’s training ground for Christian values.
